I am hearing from some Carvin owners that the Laminated basses (Those with top woods glued on) are not "resonating" as well as those s0lid pieces such as the "Swamp Ash" basses. I just ordered a BB75 with a Koa body and Flamed Koa top - Now I am worried that my low B string will be dead! What do you think?
Also, I do a lot of slapping as well as fingerstyle playing (Jazz). Do you recommend the HB5 pickup in the bridge position or will the others (Stacked humbuckers) be fine?
PS: Your playing is awesome! - I live in AZ but am willing to travel to CA at least once for a lesson. Any chance you will be playing in the Phoenix area soon?
